Photonic Crystal Nanocavities


The research activity on Photonic Crystal (PhC) photonic structures started in 2006 in the frame of a collaboration with the Ecòle Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL). In these years a wide experience in PhC microcavities and photonic structures has been developed.  Today the activity is carried out in Collaboration with: European laboratory for Non Linear Spectroscopy (LENS); Università di Firenze; COBRA Research Institute, Eindhoven University of Technology

Main topics are:

Design and fabrication of coupled PhC microcavities (2, 3, 4 and more cavities in coupled configuration) , also called photonic molecules

Coupling of Photonic Crystal microcavities: EM field distribution and mode control  by SNOM characterization

COUPLING CONTROL : water infiltration, non thermic local oxidation by laser, etc
